Philips
Norelco BG2020 Men's Bodygroom
The popular
Philips Norelco Bodygroom is described briefly on the
company's own website
as follows:
The all-in-one body-grooming system, exclusively for men, trims & shaves
all body zones. It's safe & easy.
The Bodygroom is water-resistant and thus suitable for use in or out of the
shower
Amazon.com has a much fuller description:
With the Bodygroom, men can trim and shave hair from their chest & abs,
underarms, groin area, legs, back and shoulders. Bodygroom features the very
latest technology and ergonomic design to offer a convenient, easy and
pain-free way to remove and trim body hair.
Bodygroom’s advanced design allows for it to be used wet or dry and even in
the shower. Its hypoallergenic foil protects even the most sensitive skin
against nicks, cuts or irritation, and its stainless-steel blades ensure
long-lasting performance. The Bodygroom comes with many extras including a
cleaning brush and convenient charging stand.
We all know that men’s body hair is different, it can be coarse and grow in
multiple directions, and that is why Bodygroom is truly a revolution in
grooming. Men finally have a product designed specifically to meet their
unique grooming needs.
According to the Jungle Life
San Francisco website:
Check the reviews on Amazon for some firsthand reactions. For those that
have been using the Bodygroom for its intended purpose (groin, chest,
underarms, etc.) there have been glowing reviews but those who (stupidly)
attempted to use this to groom their face or skull were sorely disappointed.
Available from Amazon and Target for an affordable $40, the Philips
Bodygroom appears from the reviews to do exactly what it was intended -
shave unwanted body hair in all of those unsightly (and sensitive) places.
Just like any other cosmetic product however, the need may not exist until
you create it - create the insecurity and people will consume the solution.
Teeth whitening, pore cleansing, starfish bleaching, ball shaving you name
it. If it didn't bother you then, by the time you've been inundated with
enough advertisements it'll bother you soon enough.
To be fair, bodygrooming is a subject that comes up fairly often among us
men and the Philips Bodygroom is likely to satisfy many a hairy nut. Check
the reviews... some of them are hilarious!
Popular Mechanics magazine reviewed the Bodygroom:
The Bodygroom electric razor is already the butt (puns are inevitable
when talking about this device) of potty-mouth jokes from all manner of Web
and print journalists. And yet, it's a good idea: a razor designed for all
points south of the neck, including—cue the adolescent giggles—there. To a
certain extent the Bodygroom is simply a shaver that doesn't cut very close,
greatly reducing the chance of nicking sensitive areas or otherwise things
that you seriously do not want to irritate.
...The Downside: Men have been shaving "everywhere" for years, so the
Bodygroom isn't innovative in concept. However, it's definitely the least
anxiety-inducing body shaver I’ve seen (or, I’ll admit it, tried).
...Bottom Line: The Bodygroom is equal parts hilarious and useful.
Girlfriends and wives should feel free to give it as a gift, deftly
transforming this highly functional body shaver into a not-so-subtle hint.
Amazon.com has
more than
300 generally
favorable customer reviews of the Bodygroomer. Check them out. Some are
indeed hilarious.
