Panasonic
Nose and Ear Hair Trimmers
Panasonic
makes quite a range of nose and ear hair trimmers. They are listed at the
company's own website.
Top of the range is the ER421KC model (pictured), which is described as
follows:
Built-in Light for Precision and Accuracy
The Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer uses a bright, focused light for precision and
accuracy.
Wet/Dry Trimming Convenience
Our Trimmer is wet/dry and fully immersible in water. Rinse under water for
quick and easy cleaning.
Curved, Hypo-Allergenic Blades for Natural Filtering
Curved, hypo-allergenic stainless steel blades leave the proper amount of
hairs for natural filtering.
Safety Cone Protects Skin from Direct Contact
The safety cone guides the hair into the blades and protects the skin from
direct contact with the rotary blade system.
Plenty of product descriptions are available on the internet, but I have not
been able to find independent, objective reviews of the nose and ear hair
trimmers.
However, sales sites like Amazon.com contain many customer reviews. Here is
one:
For some reason I've always had it in my mind that these things would
either rip out my nose hairs by the roots or shave a little skin off when
shoved up my nose. Not the case! It works great. Do yourself a favor and
don't bother with this model and get the one without the light. It's
useless.
And another:
This is the second trimmer I've owned. I like the design of this model,
as it completely protects delicate skin from the all-metal blades. The light
is good for a quick review of your work, and to see if you've missed
anything. Other users have periodically complained of trimmers pulling on
nose hairs, this is a common occurrence with any trimmer if you have long
nose hairs. Trim often, and you shouldn't have this issue. For the price,
this is an excellent purchase, of very good quality, which is why I give it
5 stars.
And one that is less favorable:
I was given this trimmer as a present. The first few months, it was a
great trimmer. After the first, three months, there was a high grinding
noise that sounded like the blade was rubbing against the inner cap. After
taking apart the inner cap, and cleaning the blade numerous times, the
machine was still in the same condition. I ordered new blades and after a
couple of weeks , the same noise came back.
It was obvious, it was time to replace the trimmer.
In addition, I personally never use the attached light accessory, I think
it's a wasted feature. In conclusion, out of my experience, I would keep
away from this model and look into other trimmers.
