Jeremy Camp - Brimming with an Air of Gratefulness
Solid review of "Beyond Measure" in The Trades:

Jeremy Camp's 4th album, "Beyond Measure," brims with an air of gratefulness for all of God's blessings as this talented Christian singer-songwriter shares his individual journey of faith....While not particularly memorable musically, the album grabs hold of you through the sheer sincerity of Camp's pouring out of self. The musical growth may be in baby steps, but lyrically it's his most personal release to-date. Themes often get repeated, which can lead to a little staleness, even if the sentiments are utterly of the heart. Camp, indeed, realizes he's been "given more than beyond measure" and with palpable humility and gratitude chooses to serve God through his music.

Dream Tour
Sometimes I wish I lived in the US, so I could attend events like this:

Legendary worship artist/songwriter Chris Tomlin will embark on a 32-city US tour with Louie Giglo, author and founder of Passion ministries, this winter. Prolific worship leader Matt Redman will join for select dates on the tour as a special guest.

Even If I Can Spell Zschech, How Do I Pronounce It?
Christianity Today comments on its 2006 Readers' Choice Christian Music Awards:

We also had a few amusing typographical errors in this year's voting. In the Best Album category, there was a vote for Jars of Clays Goof Monsters. The Best Band category included a vote for "Casting Crows," which we think might be some sort of conglomeration between Casting Crowns and Counting Crows. And then there were the usual stabs at Hillsong worship leader Darlene's last name, with everything from "Check" to "Czech" to "Zwetch."

Watching God Work on the Sonicflood Tour
Officials are heaping praise on Sonicflood's 57-city missions-focussed tour:

Mike Lopez, director of student mobilization for the International Mission Board, said it has been amazing to watch God work through the concerts.

“Our main objective for the Sonicflood tour was to mobilize students for international missions service,” Lopez said. “God blessed this effort in many ways. As Sonicflood led us in the worship of God, God began to work in people’s hearts. As people watched the videos, heard the testimonies and learned about global needs, they began to respond.”

An Infectious Rocker That Has Hit Stamped All Over It
The Dallas Morning News is impressed with Chris Tomlin's new album, "See the Morning":

"Made to Worship," the first single, has already topped the charts. "Awesome Is the Lord Our God" is an infectious rocker that has "hit" stamped all over it. "Let God Arise," inspired by Psalm 68:1, is downright rowdy, and Tomlin calls it "our rock `n' roll song."

But it's the restored final verse of "Amazing Grace" that I found fascinating, like learning something new and lovely about a dear old friend. "The earth shall soon dissolve like snow / The sun forbear to shine; / But God, who call'd me here below, / Will be forever mine." It's great to have it back.

David Crowder - Good Old Church Music
David Crowder is interviewed by the Salisbury, Maryland, Daily Times:

"We're rocking faces off all over the country," Crowder said, laughing. "No, really we're just giving them good old church music, where people sit around singing songs together. The difference is, the sound is a lot more modern."

Sonicflood Sparks Squabble
A concert at the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM) by Sonicflood has caused controversy, because - gulp - they are a Christian band. According to university newspaper The Pacer:

The controversy started when Adam Francis, a senior philosophy major, started the Facebook group: “Why is UTM using my money to book a Christian band?”

Francis said he did not get interested in the concert until he noticed that the Student Activities Council (SAC) was sponsoring the event.

“I got onto their (Sonicflood’s) website and found that one of their beliefs is that ‘Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for salvation and all people without personal faith in him are lost and will spend eternity in hell.’ That’s not the kind of thing I want my student activities fee being spent on,” Francis said.

Francis went on to question the constitutionality of the move to sponsor the event. SAC, which collects a mandatory per semester fee from all students, spent $10,000 to bring Sonicflood to UTM.
